Our view is that the strongest benefit is practical: another departure-and-arrival combination to test against the way you want to use a home. For someone who finds Schiphol convenient, it could make the Costa Cálida a more workable option for repeated visits, viewing trips and visits from family.
Consider two properties you like equally. One has an attractive advertised airport distance; the other has flights that fit your available days, a straightforward transfer and a sensible return time. The second may be easier to use in real life. The new route is a reason to revisit that comparison once the timetable is available.
It is too early to attach a house-price forecast or rental-return claim to this announcement. More travel choice is useful in its own right. Whether it changes demand for a particular development depends on much more than one seasonal air route.
Murcia or Alicante? Compare the whole trip
Keep both airports in your search. For each property on your shortlist, compare:
- Outbound and return flights on the dates you would actually travel.
- The full cost, including bags, airport access and your onward transfer.
- Arrival time against car-hire collection or other transport arrangements.
- The drive to the property, rather than a town-centre distance.
- Options outside summer if autumn and winter stays are part of your plans.
